A Note on Safety
Each Love Alight piece is crafted with care using natural waxes, essential oils, and gentle materials. To help you enjoy your candle or diffuser safely, please take a moment to read the guidance below. These simple steps support a beautiful burn or steady diffusion, extend the life of your piece, and keep your home safe.
Candle Safety
To enjoy a steady, even burn:
- Keep your candle within sight while lit.
- Place on a stable, heat‑resistant surface away from drafts, fabrics, and flammable materials.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Trim the wick to 5 mm before each burn.
- Allow a full melt pool on the first burn to prevent tunnelling.
- Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Allow the wax to cool completely before moving or relighting.
- Stop burning when 10–12 mm of wax remains at the bottom.
These steps help your candle burn cleanly and safely from beginning to end.
Understanding Burn Times
Every Love Alight candle is hand‑poured into a thick ceramic vessel designed to burn slowly and evenly. Burn time naturally varies depending on how the candle is used, the environment it’s in, and how closely the safety guidance is followed.
Standard Burn Life (280g Fill)
When used as intended and extinguished at the final 10–12 mm of wax, you can expect:
- Approximately 45–50 hours of burn time
This reflects normal home conditions and responsible burn sessions of up to 4 hours.
Full Burn Life (Testing Conditions Only)
For internal quality and safety testing, candles are sometimes burned right down to the base to observe formula stability under high heat. Under these controlled conditions, the total burn life is:
- Approximately 51–60 hours
This is purely for testing and not recommended for consumer use.
How Room Temperature Affects Burn Time
Ambient temperature naturally influences how quickly a candle burns:
Warm rooms increase the burn rate.
- The vessel reaches equilibrium faster and stays hotter, so the wax melts more quickly.
- A warmer environment simply means the candle will move through its phases more quickly.
- The jar absorbs more heat in the early stages, which can extend the overall life.
This variation is completely normal and reflects the natural behaviour of ceramic‑housed candles.
Why the Final 10–12 mm Matters
The last centimetre of wax — roughly 20g — is intentionally left unburned. This is a standard safety buffer across professional candle making.
It protects:
- The ceramic base, which experiences the highest heat in the final phase
- The surface beneath the candle, preventing scorching
- The wick sustainer, ensuring it never overheats or makes direct contact with the vessel
Stopping at this point ensures the candle remains safe and stable throughout its life.
Diffuser Safety
- Place your diffuser on a stable surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes; wash hands after handling reeds.
- Do not place directly on painted, polished, or delicate surfaces.
Diffuser Base — CLP Information

Essential Oil Guidance
Love Alight products are made using pure essential oils. While natural, they are highly concentrated and should be handled with care.
- Avoid direct contact with the liquid oils.
- Wipe spills immediately to prevent staining or surface damage.
- Do not ingest.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have specific health concerns, speak with a qualified professional before using essential‑oil‑based products.
CLP INFORMATION BY SCENT
All Love Alight candles and diffusers comply with UK CLP regulations. The general hazard classification for the range is listed below, followed by scent‑specific allergen information in individual dropdowns.
Warning: May cause an allergic skin reaction. Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
Precautions: Avoid breathing vapour or dust. Avoid release to the environment. Wear protective gloves/eye protection/face protection.
If on skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.
Below, you’ll find dropdowns for each blend containing the specific allergen disclosures required for that scent.
(Note: This section can be styled as an accordion or dropdown list — one for each scent — to keep the page clean and easy to navigate.)
